In 2016, Seek moved to downtown Chicago, after about 16 years in Dekalb at Northern Illinois University. A video was produced focusing on Chicago, to convey the message of the change in city, and to provide an overview of the conference experience. Original videography by Matt Torres. Videography Direction, Motion design and editing by Quinn Design. Some footage was provided by the various designers featured at the conference. Seek 2016 logotype hand lettering by Aaron Draplin, created at Seek 2013.
The Seek 2016 website focused on the video trailer to engage the audience, so that was placed as the dominant element in the site. The site was kept simple, using images from the video, and then clear typography for the heavy informational content, such as the schedule, list of workshops, and about the various speakers.
